The Bitter Truth was founded in 2006 in Munich by two bartenders, Stephan Berg and Alexander Hauck, in response to the growing demand for authentic bitters for classic cocktails. Starting from an initial range of flavors (including orange and aromatic), the catalogue gradually expanded with new flavors and reconstructions of historic formulas such as Bogart's Bitters.
