Production method
Production based on integrated processes: management of multiple raw materials, fermentation, different distillation methods and subsequent ageing and blending. DUSA uses combinations of distillations and fraction selection to create the final rum profiles.
Distillation
Combined use of continuous columns, discontinuous pot stills and batch kettles; the final blend combines different fractions/distillates to achieve the commercial expressions.
Ageing
Aging in oak barrels followed by blending; some expressions have matured up to about 12 years according to the technical notes of the individual labels.

The production facility operates in the La Miel area, in Lara State (Venezuela). The company originated from the group known as Licorerías Unidas, launched in 1959 in collaboration with Seagram's; ownership and management later passed to local investors and the company became known as Destilerías Unidas S.A. (DUSA). Over time the facility has specialized in rum production and in activities of distillation, ageing and blending for international brands such as Diplomatico.
