Production method

A mezcal/agave espadín‑based product macerated with selected ingredients: the official recipe specifies 7 days of maceration, 7 days of rest and repeated filtration (7 times). Pineapple is caramelized and the chile ancho has its veins removed to achieve a calibrated heat.

Distillation

Mezcal (agave espadín) base infused/macerated with botanicals; declared process: 7 days maceration, 7 days rest and multiple filtrations (7 times).

Producer history Xila

Xila was born as a product of the young Flor de Luna project, a micro‑distillery founded in Mexico City by Hillhamn Salomé. The liqueur was developed as the project's first release and garnered international attention early on (including a recognition at the SIP Awards in 2016).

Production philosophy

An artisanal product made with selected Mexican ingredients, Xila emphasizes women‑led production, the use of local raw materials and an aromatic profile that combines sweet, floral and spicy notes, designed both for neat tasting and for mixing.

Territory

Produced in Mexico City (Flor de Luna); raw materials sourced from Mexican regions such as Oaxaca (agave espadín from Santiago Matatlán) and Puebla (chile ancho).

Awards and recognitions

Gold SIP Award (International Spirits Competition), 2016.
