Tenuta Bessererhof
Tenuta Bessererhof is located at the foot of the Sciliar Plateau in the Dolomites. Its strategic position, between the cool currents of the Isarco Valley and the heat of the Bolzano basin, favors the ideal temperature difference between day and night, thus making their wines particularly intense and fruity.
Viticulture on the estate has been practiced since the 1950s, although initially they limited themselves to selling grapes to neighboring wineries. Only towards the end of the 1980s did the actual production and sale of their wines begin.
Since 1998, the Mair family has produced and marketed the entire production and since then they have been the fourth and fifth generation in charge of the estate.
Natural viticulture is practiced and therefore they do not resort to the use of herbicides and fertilizers. The right location is chosen for each crop, paying great attention to the different altitudes, slopes and sun exposure.
Even today, much of the work in the vineyards is carried out by hand since the slope of the land almost completely excludes the use of agricultural machinery. This is how wines with a unique character and marked by the commitment and passion of the Mair family for wine are born.
