Description

The Cabernet Sauvignon Nero d'Avola Sicilia DOC "Magnum - Hugonis" by Tenuta Rapitalà is an exclusive example that combines the elegance and power of two prestigious vines in a magnum format, which enhances its presence and evolution over time. This wine represents the perfect fusion between the structure and complexity of Cabernet Sauvignon with the fruity sweetness and softness typical of Nero d'Avola, creating a rich, harmonious blend of great character.

Visually, the magnum format shows a deep, dark red color, with reflections that tend towards purple, a prelude to an extraordinary olfactory and gustatory intensity. On the nose, the bouquet is rich and complex, with dominant notes of ripe berries, enriched by nuances of spices, vanilla and chocolate, due to the aging in wood which gives the wine a notable aromatic depth.

Winery history

The estate was created through the reconstruction undertaken by Hugues Bernard conte de la Gatinais and Gigi Guarrasi after the earthquake in the Valle del Belice. Founded in 1968, the winery has grown by blending indigenous and international grape varieties, maintaining a production approach focused on elegance and a close connection to the territory, now carried forward by the winemaking team listed on the winery's website.

Production philosophy

To showcase Sicily’s diverse micro-terroirs through a sustainable, organic approach to viticulture, with the aim of combining the richness of the Mediterranean landscape with the elegance of French savoir‑faire.
