The Champagne Dom Ruinart 2009 in magnum format, presented in a wooden case, offers a mature and refined profile. From Ruinart, this vintage shows a balance between freshness and complexity. On the nose there are notes of white-fleshed fruit, ripe citrus and light brioche nuances, supported by a discreet mineral background. No technical details on grape varieties or cellar practices are provided; the impression is of a wine already evolved but still lively and enjoyable to explore. The magnum bottle suggests potential for further slow development over time.
On the palate it shows balanced creaminess and good tension, with fine bubbles accompanying flavors of quince, lemon and a gentle toastiness. The magnum format tends to favor a slower organoleptic progression, while the wooden case enhances presentation for a gift or important occasions. It is recommended to serve at a controlled temperature and to open a few minutes before service to allow the aromas to unfold. Pairs with fish, shellfish and fresh cheeses, or served as an elegant aperitif.

The winery
Ruinart
Champagne (Reims)France
Maison Ruinart, the oldest established Champagne house, founded on 1 September 1729 in Reims; renowned for a Chardonnay-driven style and its historic chalk cellars (crayères).
The story
Founded on 1 September 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart, inspired by the monk Dom Thierry Ruinart. In the 18th century the House acquired the underground crayères in Reims for ageing; the family became Ruinart de Brimont in 1817. The House continues its historic activity in Reims and the Champagne region.
Production philosophy
Pursuit of elegance with Chardonnay as the emblematic grape, care for terroir and living soils, commitment to sustainable viticulture (HVE and Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne certifications), collaborations with the arts, and innovation in eco‑designed packaging (e.g. "Seconde Peau").
Terroir and vineyards
Champagne region (France): grapes come mainly from the Côte des Blancs and the northern slopes of the Montagne de Reims. Historic vineyards include Sillery (Grand Cru) and Taissy (Premier Cru). The historic crayères are dug beneath Reims.
