Let’s talk about Franciacorta Cuvee N.7 DOCG Brut - Lo Sparviere

More questions

Franciacorta Cuvée N.7 DOCG Brut by Lo Sparviere is a sublime expression of the Lombardy terroir, known for producing some of the finest Italian sparkling wines. This particular cuvée comes from carefully selected grapes, primarily Chardonnay, with the addition of Pinot Nero, which adds complexity and depth to the blend.

The vinification follows the rigorous traditional Franciacorta method, with a second fermentation in the bottle followed by a maturation period on the lees that is not less than 24 months. This process gives Cuvée N.7 by Lo Sparviere an elegant texture and remarkable aromatic persistence.

On the nose, it reveals intense aromas of fresh fruit, such as peach and citrus, enriched by subtle notes of toasted bread and almond. On the palate, it is lively and fresh with a pleasant acidity. The fine perlage ensures a creamy sensation and a clean, refreshing finish.

This Franciacorta is excellent as an aperitif or to accompany light appetizers, seafood, and delicate chicken dishes. A true gem to discover for celebrating special occasions or to add a touch of elegance to everyday moments.

The story
The winery is located in an ancient country residence dating back to the 16th century; its name derives from the depiction of a sparrowhawk on the manor house’s fireplace. The estate is linked to the Gussalli Beretta family, and its recent management is attributable to Monique Poncelet Gussalli Beretta.
Production philosophy
Production focuses on expressing the terroir through grape selection, extended lees aging for the Franciacorta and the use of oak aging for some cuvées; the vineyards have been managed according to organic practices since 2013.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are situated in the hilly area of Franciacorta, southeast of Lake Iseo. The soils are characterised by calcareous marl and by the influence of pre-Alpine air, resulting in a relatively cool microclimate compared with lower-lying areas.
