Let’s talk about Gin Marconi 21 - Delicato 70cl - Poli

More questions

Gin Marconi 21 Delicato is a refined and aromatic distillate, designed for those seeking a gin of great elegance and lightness. Produced by the historic Poli Distillery, founded in 1898 in Schiavon, in the heart of Veneto, this gin embodies the purest Italian craftsmanship, combining fresh and delicate botanicals with an innovative distillation method.

Its raw material is a botanical symphony composed of juniper berries, rosemary, mint, green anise, wild fennel, coriander, and cardamom. These ingredients are artisanally distilled in small batches with an exclusive vacuum water bath still, a method that preserves the most volatile and delicate aromas intact, delivering a pure olfactory profile and a long aromatic persistence to the glass.

In appearance, it is clear and crystalline, a symbol of its purity.
On the nose, it opens with a fresh and balsamic bouquet: the aniseed notes of green anise and wild fennel predominate, evoking a meadow of wild herbs caressed by the wind.

On the palate, it is delicate yet deep: the refreshing aroma of juniper and rosemary naturally emerges, while coriander and cardamom provide spicy nuances that fade into a pleasant menthol and licorice persistence, almost like an aromatic breath crossing a flowered field.

Perfect for mixing, Gin Marconi 21 stands out for its lighter strength compared to many London Dry gins, making it ideal for a fresh and harmonious Gin & Tonic or a Negroni with more delicate nuances. It is a gin that captivates with its elegant sobriety, like a light perfume that leaves a memorable trail.

The story
Poli Distillerie was founded in 1898 in Schiavon (Vicenza) when Giobatta Poli began distilling. The company has remained family-run for generations and developed a dual focus: artisanal production of spirits and the promotion of grappa culture through the Poli Grappa Museum, with sites in Bassano del Grappa and Schiavon. Over time the range was expanded to include gin, whisky, liqueurs and vermouth while preserving traditional methods alongside production innovations.
Distillation
Artisanal distillation with discontinuous water-bath stills (copper boilers) for grappas and distillates; a vacuum water-bath still (Crysopea) is used for some gin references.
Ageing
Aging in casks/barrique; specific examples include whisky aged in white oak casks for 5 years (e.g. Conclave) and products using barrique/solera systems for some aged grappas.
Raw materials
  • vinacce (pomace) for grappa
  • grapes for wine distillates/brandy
  • malted barley for whisky
  • juniper berries and botanicals for gin
  • medicinal plants, herbs and flowers for amari and liqueurs
