The Porto Fundador White of Real Companhia Velha is a fortified wine with great character, produced in the historic Douro region, the undisputed homeland of Port wines. Made mainly from white grapes typical of the area, this white Porto stands out for its freshness and aromaticity, the result of a careful winemaking process and aging in wooden barrels. On the nose, it opens with delicate notes of citrus and white flowers, accompanied by subtle hints of vanilla and almond, which lend elegance and complexity.
On the palate, it shows a refined balance between sweetness and acidity, with a soft body and pleasant persistence. Ideal as an aperitif, it also pairs well with light desserts, fresh cheeses, or dried fruits, making it perfect for convivial moments and refined tastings, paying homage to Portuguese tradition and the craftsmanship of one of Portugal's oldest wine companies.

The story
Founded in 1756 as Companhia Geral da Agricultura das Vinhas do Alto Douro on the initiative of Sebastião José de Carvalho e Melo (Marquês de Pombal), Real Companhia Velha played a historic role in the regulation and development of Douro viticulture. Over the centuries it underwent reforms, periods of state intervention and subsequent relaunches; documented events include the registration of the Fundador brand in 1928, the acquisition of Quinta das Carvalhas (1950s) and the integration of several historic labels (including Delaforce in 2008). The company has celebrated more than 250 years of continuous activity dedicated to Port wine and Douro wines.
