Geschichte des Weinguts Villa Matilde Avallone

Der Impuls für das Weingut entstand in den 1960er Jahren durch Francesco Paolo Avallone, der durch Studien und Forschungen darauf abzielte, die historischen Rebsorten im Zusammenhang mit dem 'vinum Falernum' wieder in Produktion zu bringen. Die Führung blieb in Familienhand: die nächste Generation hat das Projekt erweitert und dabei weiterhin Wert auf die Region, ampelografische Forschung und Qualität gelegt.

Produktionsphilosophie

Gleichgewicht zwischen Tradition und Innovation: Villa Matilde wertschätzt einheimische Rebsorten und lokale Terroirs durch Forschung, gezielte Weinbaupraktiken und Umweltengagement und setzt auf Qualität statt auf Massenproduktion.

Terroir und Weinberge

Die Weinberge befinden sich hauptsächlich im Gebiet des Massico und an den Hängen des erloschenen Vulkans Roccamonfina, mit weiteren Liegenschaften im Sannio und in der Irpinia. Die Weinberge profitieren von Böden vulkanischer und tuffhaltiger Beschaffenheit sowie von einem Mikroklima, das durch die Nähe zum Meer und das umliegende Bergamphitheater beeinflusst wird.
