The Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC Ripasso, presented in an imposing Jeroboam format and housed in a wooden case, is one of the most prestigious and representative expressions of the Secondo Marco winery. This wine exemplifies the "ripasso" technique, which consists of refermenting the wine on Amarone pomace to enrich its flavor and structure.

Visually, the wine stands out for its deep garnet red color, with reflections that intensify with aging. On the nose, the bouquet is rich and complex, offering intense aromas of cherry in alcohol, dried plum and spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg, all integrated with nuances of tobacco and leather, inherited from contact with the Amarone skins.

In the mouth, Secondo Marco's Valpolicella Ripasso is powerful but balanced. The structure is robust, characterized by soft and well-integrated tannins that blend harmoniously with lively acidity. The palate is enveloped in flavors of ripe fruit and spicy notes, which lead to a long and persistent finish, with a slightly bitter aftertaste which is typical of wines in this category.

This wine is particularly suitable for accompanying intense and structured dishes, such as braised meats, meat and game stews, as well as aged cheeses and dishes rich in umami. The Jeroboam format makes it ideal for celebrations and special occasions, ensuring that the wine retains its freshness and liveliness even after opening.

The wooden case presentation not only protects the wine, but adds a touch of elegance and prestige, making it a perfect gift for wine enthusiasts or an important addition to any collection. With its aging potential, Secondo Marco's Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC Ripasso can be enjoyed now or stored to be further enriched in the coming years.

Winery history
Secondo Marco is the personal project of Marco Speri, originated within the historic Speri family and established as an independent winery in 2008. The winery was founded to interpret Valpolicella according to Marco’s vision and taste, with a focus on grape selection and traditional techniques such as grape drying for Amarone.
Production philosophy
The winery aims to express the character of the terroir through an approach that combines tradition and research: careful vineyard management, hand selection of the bunches, use of appassimento and winemaking focused on preserving sapidity and the grape's aromas. For the Amarone, the winery states long, spontaneous fermentations without added yeasts. The emphasis is on organoleptic quality and territorial identity.
Terroir and vineyards
Valpolicella Classica from the municipality of Fumane. Vineyards lie at the foot of the valley on clay-limestone soils, with a microclimate influenced by winds from the Monti Lessini and Lake Garda.
