The Primitivo PGI Salento "Cantalupi" in 375ml format by Conti Zecca is a wine that expresses with intensity and character the winemaking heritage of Salento, in the heart of Puglia. The Conti Zecca winery, with a history that has its roots in five centuries of passion for viticulture, stands out for the production of wines that reflect the authenticity and richness of the territory, taking advantage of the favorable geographical position and the Mediterranean climate that favor optimal ripening of the grapes.

Primitivo, one of the symbolic vines of Puglia, is renowned for its ability to produce red wines of great structure and depth, with a rich and complex aromatic profile. "Cantalupi" comes from selected vineyards in the Salento area, where the clay and limestone soils and exposure to the Mediterranean sun allow us to obtain high quality Primitivo grapes, characterized by a notable aromatic and sugar concentration.

The winemaking is careful to preserve the varietal characteristics and the intensity of the fruit. The wine undergoes controlled maceration and fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by a short period of refinement which helps to integrate the flavors and round out the structure, without overpowering the primary expressiveness of the Primitivo.

Visually, Primitivo PGI Salento "Cantalupi" has an intense and lively ruby red color. On the nose, the bouquet is rich and inviting, with dominant notes of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and plums, enriched by nuances of sweet spices and a light touch of vanilla and liquorice, which testify to the typical expressiveness of Primitivo.

In the mouth, the wine shows excellent structure and full body, with soft and well-integrated tannins that support its persistence. The flavors of ripe red fruit blend with spicy and balsamic accents, in a harmonious balance that leads to a long and pleasantly warm finish, typical of Salento wines.

Ideal in combination with robust dishes of Mediterranean cuisine, such as baked pasta, red meats and mature cheeses, the Primitivo PGI Salento "Cantalupi" by Conti Zecca is also an excellent tasting wine, capable of offering a rich sensorial experience that enhances the qualities distinctive features of Primitivo and the uniqueness of the Salento terroir.
