The Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Pietro Dal Cero by Ca' dei Frati is an extraordinary expression of the Veneto terroir, exuding elegance and depth. Crafted from a careful selection of Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes, this wine represents one of the highest expressions of viticulture in this prestigious region.

The production process is arduous and meticulous: the grapes are left to dry for several months before fermentation, thus concentrating sugars and aromas, followed by a long aging period in large oak barrels. This method, traditional to the Valpolicella area, bestows the wine with a robust structure and unparalleled aromatic complexity.

On the nose, Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Pietro Dal Cero offers intense scents of ripe fruit such as cherries in spirits and plums, along with hints of sweet spices, chocolate, and a slight touch of tobacco. On the palate, the wine is powerfully rich, with enveloping tannins and a smoothness that perfectly balances the acidity. The long aromatic persistence is impressive, with a finish that echoes notes of dried fruit and spices.

Ideal for accompanying elaborate red meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses, the Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Pietro Dal Cero by Ca' dei Frati is also an excellent meditation wine. A true jewel of Italian winemaking that deserves to be tasted and appreciated during special moments, promising a rich and memorable sensory experience.

Winery history
The estate is documented as far back as 1782, and its present course took shape when Felice Dal Cero moved to Lugana di Sirmione in 1939. The Dal Cero family progressively bottled and promoted Lugana; in 1969 Pietro Dal Cero took part in the establishment of the appellation by bottling its first label. Today the estate is managed by succeeding generations of the family, who carry on production and activities tied to the local area.
Production philosophy
Careful work in the vineyard and cellar, with separate vinifications for each vineyard to capture the different expressions of the terroir. The estate declares respect for the raw material, up-to-date techniques and carefully planned ageing to produce wines with integrity and longevity.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate's main vineyards are concentrated in the Lugana di Sirmione area and around the tower of San Martino della Battaglia on Lake Garda; in the early 2000s the estate also acquired approximately 11 hectares in Valpolicella, where the Amarone 'Pietro Dal Cero' is produced.
