Tenuta Fertuna's Lodai DOC is a tribute to the Tuscan wine tradition, positioning itself as one of the flagship wines of this renowned estate located in the heart of the Maremma. An area known for its breathtaking landscape, ideal climate and fertile soils, which together contribute to the production of exceptional quality wines. Lodai perfectly embodies the expression of the Maremma terroir, through an expertly balanced blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

The choice of these vines reflects Tenuta Fertuna's intention to create a wine that combines the structure and complexity typical of great Tuscan reds with a freshness and drinkability that invites sharing. The result is a wine of notable elegance and depth, which stands out for its distinctive character and gastronomic versatility.

Visually, Lodai presents itself with an intense and inviting ruby red color, which heralds a rich and complex olfactory and gustatory experience. On the nose, a varied aromatic bouquet emerges, with notes of ripe red fruits, spices, and a light trace of vanilla and leather, evidence of the aging in barrique which adds further complexity without overpowering the fruit.

In the mouth, Lodai offers a balanced structure, with soft and well-integrated tannins that blend harmoniously with the natural acidity of Sangiovese. The flavors of cherry, plum and a spicy note of black pepper are enriched with nuances of chocolate and tobacco, leading to a persistent and satisfying finish.

Ideal as an accompaniment to robust meat dishes, both red and white, baked preparations, game and medium and long-aged cheeses, Tenuta Fertuna's Lodai is also a pleasure to be enjoyed on its own, as a meditation wine, which invites reflection on the many facets of the Maremma terroir.

In conclusion, Tenuta Fertuna's Lodai DOC represents an authentic and passionate expression of Maremma viticulture, a wine which, thanks to its aromatic richness and its elegant structure, manages to tell the story of a unique territory and the passion of those who cultivate.

Winery history
The modern project of Tenuta Fertuna began in the 1990s with the planting of the vineyards in 1997; the property developed on an estate featuring an early 20th-century villa, renovated and also converted into guest accommodation. Over the years the winery has complemented its wine production with wine tourism and dining activities, integrating business management and sustainability principles.
Production philosophy
It combines respect for local tradition with modern technology: plots are chosen based on soil and grape variety, winemaking is carried out plot by plot with temperature control, and aging in tonneaux/barriques.
