The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva DOC "Tralcetto" by Zaccagnini is a superb expression of Abruzzese viticulture, born from a careful selection of the finest Montepulciano grapes grown in the winery's vineyards. Each bottle is a tribute to the region's winemaking tradition, with a touch of modernity that only Cantina Zaccagnini can infuse.

With a deep ruby red color, featuring garnet reflections that intensify with aging, this wine boasts a complex and intensely fruity aroma. Notes of ripe fruit such as plum and cherry blend with hints of tobacco, leather, and a slight touch of vanilla, the result of maturation in barrique.

On the palate, the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva "Tralcetto" reveals a robust structure, well-balanced by mature tannins and a lively freshness. Its evolution in the mouth is rich and persistent, with an aftertaste reminiscent of sweet spices and dark chocolate.

This wine is ideal for accompanying robust red meat dishes, such as roasts and stews, as well as aged cheeses and dishes rich in intense flavors. To fully appreciate its qualities, it is recommended to decant it at least an hour before serving and to serve it at a temperature of 18°C.

The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva DOC "Tralcetto" by Zaccagnini thus manages to capture the essence of Abruzzo, offering a profound sensory experience that reflects the love and passion of the territory for wine. An elegant representation of the local wine heritage, encapsulated in every single bottle.

Iconic "Tralcetto" line with a vine sprig affixed to the bottle. Strong focus on Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and other native grape varieties. Managing approximately 300 hectares of vineyards in the hills of Pescara. Integration with the Argea Group Exhibition space and art collection at the winery, cultural activities initiated in the 1980s.
Winery history
The winery was established as a family-run business in Bolognano and over time has developed a strong territorial identity centered on native Abruzzo grape varieties and the emblematic "Tralcetto". The company website and promotional materials state that the modern history of the estate begins in 1978; documents from the Argea group cite an alternative date, so public sources disagree on the exact year of foundation. In 2023 Cantina Zaccagnini joined the Argea group; the estate is also known for having transformed its cellar spaces into a venue for art since the 1980s.
Production philosophy
Highlighting the Abruzzo region and its native grape varieties with an approach that blends tradition and modern techniques, the brand also conveys a strong artistic sensibility, presenting visual culture as an integral part of the wine experience.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located on the hills of Pescara in Abruzzo, in a territory that ranges from the Apennine Mountains to the Adriatic coast. The estate reports vineyards distributed across the Colli Pescaresi with microclimatic conditions moderated by mountain breezes.
