The Oppano Verdicchio di Matelica 2022 produced by the Marani winery is an exemplar that embodies the elegance and aromatic richness typical of this denomination. This wine stands out for its vibrant freshness and balanced structure, making it particularly pleasant on the palate.

The color is a straw yellow hue with greenish reflections, typical of Verdicchio. On the nose, it offers a rich bouquet, with notes of white-fleshed fruit such as apple and pear, enriched by floral nuances and a slight hint of aromatic herbs. On the palate, the lively acidity is well balanced by the sapidity, which together confer a pleasant persistence and lasting freshness.

Ideal as an aperitif, this Verdicchio di Matelica pairs splendidly with seafood dishes, shellfish, and fresh cheeses. The Marani winery, with its Oppano Verdicchio di Matelica 2022, offers a wine that magnificently represents the identity of the territory and a passion for quality viticulture.

Winery history
Amarano was founded as a family-run estate in the Montemarano area of Alta Irpinia. Public sources report the business began in 2004; management is carried out by family members who oversee both the farming and the winemaking decisions. Over time the estate has focused its production on the area's traditional grape varieties, favoring extended aging for the reds and lees contact for the whites.
Production philosophy
The winery declares a strong connection to the tradition of Irpinia: it primarily produces wine from native grape varieties, maintains low yields, reduces the use of chemical products by adopting integrated pest management protocols, and limits the use of sulfites. In the cellar, stainless-steel fermentations alternate with aging in barriques and large casks to enhance the wines' structure and longevity.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in Montemarano, in the heart of Irpinia, the estate cultivates vineyards situated on hills of predominantly volcanic and sandy origin, at elevations of around 500–700 m above sea level. The area is characterized by marked diurnal temperature variation and soils that enhance acidity, minerality and structure in the wines.
