The Sannicola Verdicchio Di Matelica 2022 from the Marani winery is a splendid example of how a wine can express the unique qualities of its territory. This white wine is produced in the Matelica area, known for its particular climate that allows Verdicchio to mature slowly, developing a remarkable aromatic complexity.

The Verdicchio di Matelica from Sannicola stands out for its bright straw yellow color with greenish reflections that anticipate freshness on the palate. On the nose, intense floral and fruity notes open up; hints of green apple, peach, and a slight touch of almond, typical of this variety. In the mouth, the wine is elegant and well-balanced, with good acidity that promises excellent aging potential.

It is a wine that pairs excellently with light appetizers, fish dishes, or simply as an aperitif. The Sannicola Verdicchio di Matelica 2022 is a wine that carries with it the tradition and innovation of Cantina Marani, offering a tasting experience that is both familiar and surprisingly new. A true journey into the heart of the Matelica territory through a glass of wine.

Winery history
Amarano was founded as a family-run estate in the Montemarano area of Alta Irpinia. Public sources report the business began in 2004; management is carried out by family members who oversee both the farming and the winemaking decisions. Over time the estate has focused its production on the area's traditional grape varieties, favoring extended aging for the reds and lees contact for the whites.
Production philosophy
The winery declares a strong connection to the tradition of Irpinia: it primarily produces wine from native grape varieties, maintains low yields, reduces the use of chemical products by adopting integrated pest management protocols, and limits the use of sulfites. In the cellar, stainless-steel fermentations alternate with aging in barriques and large casks to enhance the wines' structure and longevity.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in Montemarano, in the heart of Irpinia, the estate cultivates vineyards situated on hills of predominantly volcanic and sandy origin, at elevations of around 500–700 m above sea level. The area is characterized by marked diurnal temperature variation and soils that enhance acidity, minerality and structure in the wines.
