The Chianti Classico DOCG produced by the Fattoria di Lamole of Castello di Lamole is a wine that perfectly embodies the essence of the Tuscan winemaking tradition, presenting itself with a rich history and a distinctly elegant character. Originating from the picturesque hills of Chianti, between Florence and Siena, this wine is a testament to the dedication and passion with which the vines are cultivated in this region.

The Chianti Classico from Lamole is the result of a rigorous selection of Sangiovese grapes, grown in vineyards that rise on clayey and calcareous soils, ideal for imparting a robust structure and a complex aromatic profile to the wine. The vinification follows traditional methods, with prolonged maceration allowing for excellent extraction of color and tannins, followed by aging in oak barrels that further refines the bouquet and taste of the wine.

Visually, the Chianti Classico DOCG from Castello di Lamole displays an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, it opens with a persistent aroma, where notes of forest fruits, such as cherry and blackberry, can be distinguished alongside nuances of spices, leather, and a light touch of vanilla. On the palate, the wine is balanced, with a soft entry that evolves into a well-defined structure, supported by mature tannins and a lively freshness. The finish is long and aromatic, with an aftertaste that recalls the nuances perceived on the nose.

Perfect to accompany hearty dishes like roasts, game, and aged cheeses, the Chianti Classico from Lamole is a wine that also lends itself beautifully to prolonged aging, promising to evolve magnificently over the years.

Labels identified as organic wines in promotional materials/catalogs
Winery history
The Socci family's presence in Lamole dates back centuries, while the Fattoria was consolidated as a business in the 19th century: local sources report that in 1870 notary Giovanni Socci unified the properties and founded the Fattoria di Lamole. In recent decades Paolo Socci has led a major effort to restore the terraced vineyards and historic buildings, renewing the plantings and recovering traditional clones of Sangiovese.
Production philosophy
The estate focuses on preserving the landscape and the local terroir: restoring and maintaining terraced vineyards, selecting traditional Sangiovese clones, and using low‑intervention winemaking practices. Several labels are listed as organic wines on the production sheets; the winery favors limited productions that reflect the identity of the place.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate is located in the village of Lamole, a hamlet of Greve in Chianti. The vineyards are planted on the hilly slopes of the Chianti Classico, with soils rich in alberese/galestro and macigno typical of the area; the microclimate and elevations contribute to the floral and mineral expression of the wines.
Awards and recognitions
Local recognition for the restoration of terraced vineyards and for eco-friendly practices in wine tourism.
