The Puglia IGT Nero di Troia by Torrevento is a red wine that encapsulates the essence and unique terroir of Puglia, a region renowned for its historical richness and diverse landscapes. This wine is primarily produced from the Nero di Troia grape variety, one of the gems of Apulian viticulture, known for its robust character and deep aromatic notes.

Visually, the Puglia IGT Nero di Troia presents an intense ruby red color, with reflections that tend towards violet as it ages. On the nose, one can perceive a complex and enveloping bouquet, with shades of ripe red fruits such as plums and cherries, enriched by delicate spicy and vanilla notes, derived from its aging in wood.

On the palate, the wine shows a solid and well-balanced structure, with elegant and well-integrated tannins that promise good longevity. The acidity is balanced and works in harmony with the fruit, leading to a persistent and pleasantly aromatic finish.

This wine pairs excellently with traditional Apulian cuisine, such as orecchiette with meat ragù, as well as with grilled or stewed red meats. It is also a great companion for mature and flavorful cheeses.

The Nero di Troia by Torrevento represents an excellent example of how local winemaking traditions can converge in a bottle that expresses quality and terroir. A wine that, year after year, continues to receive accolades for its excellence and its ability to convey the soul of its land.

A varied regional portfolio: Castel del Monte, Primitivo and Salento areas.
Winery history
The company's history begins with the Liantonio family. In the post-war period—after the purchase of the ancient monastery in Contrada Torre del Vento—the company began to develop its production; from the 1990s it achieved commercial recognition and promoted the Nero di Troia grape with flagship labels such as Vigna Pedale. Company and industry sources cite key milestones linked to the return from migration, the 1948 acquisition of the tenuta and the entrepreneurial growth of the following decades.
Production philosophy
It combines tradition and innovation to enhance Puglia's indigenous grape varieties, focusing on sustainable practices in both the vineyard and the winery. The company declares its commitment to environmental, economic and ethical-social sustainability and adopts certifications and standards for quality and food safety.
Terroir and vineyards
Operating in the Alta Murgia at the foot of the UNESCO site Castel del Monte, it sources its grapes from three main areas of Puglia: the Castel del Monte area, the Primitivo/central area and southern Salento.
