This Schioppettino di Cialla, presented in Magnum format by the renowned Ronchi di Cialla winery, is a red wine that tells the story of an inimitable territory, Friuli Venezia Giulia. Known for its expressiveness and intensity, this wine stands out for its deep ruby red color, almost impenetrable, which anticipates a complex aromatic bouquet.

On the nose, the Schioppettino di Cialla reveals spicy notes of black pepper and cloves, intertwined with nuances of ripe berries such as blackberries and raspberries, and a slight hint of tobacco and leather that develops with the evolution of the wine. In the mouth, the structure is robust but balanced, with silky tannins that accompany a lively freshness, typical of this native vine. The aromatic persistence is remarkable, leaving a pleasantly spicy and fruity sensation on the palate.

The winemaking takes place with great attention to the preservation of the varietal characteristics, followed by refinement in wooden barrels which helps to tone down the intensity of the tannin, enriching the wine with elegant woody notes.

This Schioppettino pairs beautifully with robust dishes, such as grilled red meats, game and mature cheeses, but is equally surprising with dishes that include mushrooms and truffles. Ideal for a special evening or as a prestigious gift thanks to its Magnum format, this wine promises to evolve beautifully for several years. A true expression of the Friulian terroir, which continues to seduce wine lovers with its uniqueness and history.

Winery history
The Rapuzzi family founded the estate in 1970 in the small Cialla valley, restoring local vineyards and helping to save Schioppettino when the variety was nearly lost. In the 1970s and 1980s the winery perfected the recovery of vine cuttings, produced the first vintages of Schioppettino and received recognition that brought Cialla’s wines to international auctions. The denomination and boundaries of the Cialla cru were officially established by ministerial acts and regulations in subsequent years, consolidating the estate’s reputation as a custodian of Friulian indigenous varieties.
Production philosophy
The estate works exclusively with native grape varieties, favoring controlled yields, selective harvesting and minimal agronomic interventions. In the cellar, winemaking is kept as natural as possible and wines undergo extended ageing — including in wood — to achieve long-lived wines with a strong expression of terroir. Biodiversity protection and low-impact practices are integral to the production method.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is located in the Cialla valley, a small hilly amphitheatre overlooking the Colli Orientali del Friuli, characterized by a tempered microclimate between the Adriatic Sea and the Julian Alps and by marly, well-stratified soils that favor the cultivation of local indigenous varieties. The area is officially recognized as the cru CIALLA for certain traditional varieties.
