The Malvasia DOC Friuli Colli Orientali produced by La Viarte winery is an extraordinary example of how the Friuli terroir can express itself through its aromatic white wines. This wine is characterized by an extraordinary freshness and complexity that captivates from the very first sip.

On the nose, La Viarte's Malvasia offers an intense and persistent aromatic palette, with dominant notes of white flowers, peach, and subtle hints of aromatic herbs, elegantly and seductively weaving into a sophisticated bouquet. The mineral component, typical of the soils of the Colli Orientali del Friuli, adds an additional level of depth and refinement to this already rich olfactory profile.

On the palate, the wine presents a fresh and lively attack, where the acidity is well balanced and contributes to maintaining a clean and stimulating palate. The flavor faithfully follows what is promised by the aroma, with an explosion of fruity and floral flavors and a persistent finish that leaves a pleasant aftertaste of bitter almond, typical of this variety.

La Viarte’s Malvasia DOC Friuli Colli Orientali is ideal as an aperitif or paired with fish dishes, shellfish, and spicy Asian cuisine. It is also an excellent companion for vegetable-based dishes and fresh cheeses.

This wine represents an excellent choice for those wishing to discover the richness and elegance of Malvasia wines, masterfully interpreted by La Viarte winery. An authentic expression of Friuli, it proves to be not only pleasurable to drink but also intriguing to discover sip after sip.

Winery history
La Viarte was established as a production company in the Colli Orientali del Friuli and is recorded as having been founded in 1973. Over the years it has developed dedicated ranges and, in 2023, returned to public attention thanks to a new management phase with the arrival of the Polegato family, who relaunched the company while maintaining its focus on the local area.
Production philosophy
The winery places respect for the territory, the enhancement of native grape varieties, and a detail-oriented cellar approach at its core: targeted winemaking by type, selective use of oak for red wines, and limited production to emphasize quality and territorial identity.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is located on the hills of the Friuli Colli Orientali DOC, near the border with Slovenia. The vineyards grow on marly-sandy soils, which impart structure and minerality to the wines.
