The Chateuneuf Du Pape Haute Pierre Rouge from Delas Freres winery represents a majestic expression of the character and tradition of the Rhône Valley. This wine stands out for its intense aromatic complexity and a structure that makes it unmistakably representative of the Chateuneuf-du-Pape appellation, famous throughout the world for its powerful and structured reds.

Produced mainly from Grenache, with the addition of Syrah, Mourvèdre and other permitted local varieties, this wine is the result of a careful blend that aims to enhance the peculiarities of each grape variety. The vineyards are grown in unique soils, rich in round pebbles (galets roulés), which accumulate heat during the day and release it at night, favoring optimal ripening of the grapes.

Fermentation and aging in steel tanks and French oak barriques allow Chateuneuf Du Pape Haute Pierre Rouge to develop a rich palette of aromas, where ripe red fruits, spices, aromatic herbs and a slightly smoky touch intertwine in a balance Perfect. The tannic presence is imposing but finely crafted, contributing to a velvety palate and a long, persistent finish.

On the nose, the wine opens with seductive notes of blackberry, cherry and raspberry, enriched with nuances of chocolate, leather and a light spiciness reminiscent of black pepper and cinnamon. The tasting reveals a generous fruity expression, supported by an elegant tannic structure and lively acidity, which together promise excellent aging potential.

Ideal in combination with red meats, game dishes, rich stews and mature cheeses, the Chateuneuf Du Pape Haute Pierre Rouge by Delas Freres is a wine that celebrates the abundance and generosity of the Rhône Valley, offering a tasting experience unforgettable for wine lovers looking for depth and complexity.

Delas Frères – Winery in Vallée du Rhône (Rodano settentrionale)

Discover the story and wines of Delas Frères.

A Northern Rhône maison that combines wines from its estate vineyards with wines sourced from partner growers; known for its Syrah-based cuvées and its parcel-based approach to the appellations of the Upper Rhône.
Region: Vallée du Rhône (Rodano settentrionale)
Country: Francia
Founded: 1835
Grapes: Syrah, Marsanne, Roussanne, Viognier, Merlot
Estate-owned vineyards concentrated in the Upper Rhône. Parcel-based approach with single-vineyard labels such as Les Bessards, Le Clos and Clos Boucher. Specializing in Syrah for Northern Rhône reds; Viognier for Condrieu; and white blends based on Marsanne and Roussanne. Historic house with roots dating back to 1835 and a quality revival beginning in the 1990s. Winemaking and aging aimed at preserving terroir expression.
Winery history
Founded as a trading business in the 19th century, the house has documented roots dating back to 1835. Throughout the 20th century the family expanded the business and the company adopted the name Delas Frères. More recently it was acquired by the Rouzaud group and underwent a revitalization: in the 1990s technical and agronomic investments were strengthened, the estate progressively expanded its vineyard holdings and, after renovation work and new acquisitions, opened modern winemaking facilities in Tain-l’Hermitage between 2015 and 2019.
Production philosophy
Enhancing the territory and individual parcels, putting people and vineyard management at the center of the work. The estate adopts an "own sourcing" approach and favors winemaking practices that respect the expression of the terroir: parcel-by-parcel vinification, predominant use of destemmed grapes, cold macerations, extended lees contact, and reduced interventions such as fining or filtration on the top cuvées.
Terroir and vineyards
Operates mainly in the Northern Rhône with its own vineyards and single‑parcel wines. The maison also works with parcels and partners to produce typical AOCs such as Condrieu, Côte‑Rôtie and Cornas, and offers Southern Rhône wines through purchases/contracts.
Awards and recognitions
Individual high-end cuvées have received high scores and accolades from critics and specialist publications; the most prestigious bottlings are frequently rated highly in tasting notes.
