The wine is primarily made from Sangiovese grapes, which are meticulously selected and handpicked in Felsina's own vineyards. It matures in oak barrels, followed by further refining in the bottle to ensure the full development of its character and complexity.

Visually, the Chianti Classico DOCG Berardenga appears with an intense ruby red color. This Chianti Classico is an excellent accompaniment to traditional Tuscan dishes, such as roasted red meats, game, and aged cheeses. Its structure also makes it ideal for aging, allowing one to appreciate the wine's evolution over time.

Region: Toscana
Country: Italia
Founded: 1966
Grapes: Sangiovese, Trebbiano, Malvasia, Chardonnay, Pinot Nero
Strong focus on Sangiovese, with a massal selection program launched in the 1980s. Flagship wines: Fontalloro, Rancia, Colonia and the Chianti Classico versions. Estate situated on the border between Chianti Classico and the Crete Senesi, with calcareous soils and distinct microclimates. They also produce traditional Vin Santo and extra virgin olive oil. Open to the public with a shop, guided tours, and tastings.
Winery history
The modern history of the estate took shape in 1966 when Domenico Poggiali purchased the property and began a quality-focused renewal. In the following years the Poggiali family, with the support of winemaking consultants and technicians, developed the vineyards and introduced new winemaking techniques; from the 1980s and 1990s emerged the selections that defined flagship wines such as Fontalloro, Rancia and Colonia.
Production philosophy
Production focused on enhancing native Sangiovese through massal selections, respect for the land and agricultural practices that preserve biodiversity. The estate combines tradition and innovation in the vineyard and cellar, with a focus on traceability and dedicated projects for olive oil as well.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate is located on the southeastern edge of the Chianti Classico appellation, in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, in a transition zone toward the Crete Senesi and the Ombrone valley. The soils are typically calcareous and comprised of laminated marls with sandstone layers, which contribute to the wines' character. The entire property covers extensive grounds, with a portion dedicated to vineyards; the estate uses multiple crus and on-site microclimates to differentiate its labels.
Awards and recognitions
Fèlsina's wines, particularly the Vin Santo and the Sangiovese selections, have received recognition and high scores in international publications and positive mentions and ratings in specialist outlets such as Falstaff and Wine-Searcher.
