Girlan Winery, nestled in the heart of the idyllic region of Alto Adige, presents its Muller Thurgau Alto Adige DOC, a refined and aromatic white that captures the essence of this mountainous terroir. With its vineyards located at an ideal altitude, where the temperature variations between day and night promote the development of intense and complex aromas, this wine is a pure expression of the Muller Thurgau varietal.

To the eye, the Muller Thurgau from Girlan stands out with its straw-yellow color with greenish reflections, promising freshness and vitality. On the nose, it opens with a fragrant bouquet, where dominant notes of white flowers, peach, and subtle hints of oriental spices, with a touch of nutmeg, characterize its aromatic profile.

On the palate, the wine surprises with its elegant structure and balance. The attack is fresh and lively, supported by a good acidity that enhances its drinkability and makes it extremely pleasant. Flavors of white fleshed fruit mingle with a fine and persistent minerality, bearing witness to the richness of the soil of origin.

The finish is long and aromatic, leaving a pleasantly fruity and slightly spiced aftertaste. This Muller Thurgau pairs beautifully with fish dishes, seafood, and can be an ideal companion for appetizers or light starters. It is also an excellent match for Asian cuisine, thanks to its distinctive aromatic profile.

Recommended for those who love characterful white wines, the Muller Thurgau Alto Adige DOC from Girlan is a specimen that tells stories of the land and tradition, ideal for special occasions or to enrich the cellar of every wine enthusiast.

Winery history
Founded in 1923 by an initial group of growers who chose an ancient 16th-century farmhouse in Cornaiano, the winery has evolved into a cooperative bringing together about 200 families. The ancient underground cellars and historic buildings coexist with modern facilities: harvesting and winemaking are managed with care for each individual vineyard to highlight local specificities.
Production philosophy
The winery aims to showcase historic local varieties and to interpret international varieties in a way that reflects the local terroir. Sustainability is central: targeted agronomic practices, reduced use of mineral fertilizers, energy-saving measures and the introduction of lighter bottles to reduce emissions.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards are located mainly in the Oltradige and the Bassa Atesina, on morainic and porphyric soils. Some crus and sites mentioned include Gschleier, Plattenriegl, Montiggl and Mazon, known for their diversity of exposure and soil.
Awards and recognitions
The winery and individual wines have received national and international recognition: for example, the Trattmann Pinot Noir Riserva has been listed among wines awarded "3 Bicchieri" by Gambero Rosso for consecutive years; the Vigna Ganger Pinot Noir Riserva has received very high scores from Wine Advocate; the Gschleier Alte Reben Vernatsch has been highlighted by Decanter among notable wines.
