The Grignolino d'Asti DOC by Gianni Doglia is a red wine that stands out for its unique character and extraordinary finesse. Produced in the Asti hills of Piedmont, a region renowned for its wine excellence, this wine is the result of the passion and commitment of the Gianni Doglia winery, a family-run business that has been dedicated to enhancing Piedmontese native grape varieties for years.

The Grignolino grapes, from which it takes its name, are known for their ability to produce slightly tannic and incredibly aromatic wines. Gianni Doglia's Grignolino d'Asti offers a very delicate ruby red color with orange reflections, typical of the grape variety. On the nose, it stands out for its fragrant aromas of fresh fruit, particularly cherry and strawberry, combined with hints of light spices and a subtle floral note.

On the palate, the wine is surprisingly lively, endowed with freshness and lightness that make it particularly enjoyable to drink. The acidity is well balanced by the fine tannins, which provide an elegant structure and an intriguing aromatic persistence. This wine's special feature also lies in its gastronomic versatility, being an excellent pairing for light appetizers, dishes based on white meat, or fish.

Hand-picked and vinified with traditional methods that respect the fruit and the environment, the Grignolino grapes are a true expression of the terroir of this part of Piedmont. Gianni Doglia, meticulous and careful in preserving the authenticity and integrity of his grapes, has managed to create a Grignolino d'Asti DOC that is not just a wine, but a sensory journey into the traditions and flavors of Piedmont.

Winery history
The family story begins with Eugenio Rivella, who in 1947 purchased land in the Annunziata hamlet of Castagnole delle Lanze to produce wine from his own grapes. Over the years management passed to the next generation and, from the late 1990s/early 2000s, to their son Gianni, an oenologist trained in enology and viticulture who has led the estate through its growth. From 2000 Gianni took direct charge of the estate, and in 2001 he vinified Moscato d'Asti from the family vineyards for the first time. In 2013 his sister Paola joined the business full-time. In 2022 Gianni was selected by Gambero Rosso as Winemaker of the Year.
