Casali Estate, located in the picturesque area of Romagna, is known for its dedication to quality and authenticity, characteristics that are beautifully reflected in the Palazzina Sangiovese Superiore DOC. This exquisite red wine is produced exclusively with Sangiovese grapes, a variety that best expresses the unique terroir of this region.

The winemaking process follows traditional practices, where fermentation occurs at controlled temperatures to preserve the varietal aromas and ensure greater color extraction. After fermentation, the wine matures in oak barrels for several months, during which it develops complexity and harmony in flavor.

The Palazzina Sangiovese Superiore DOC presents a vibrant and intense ruby red color. On the nose, it offers a complex bouquet of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and plums, along with notes of sweet spices and a hint of vanilla, resulting from the aging in wood. On the palate, the wine is robust yet balanced, with soft tannins and a pleasant freshness that makes it an ideal companion for hearty Italian dishes, such as pasta with meat ragù or roasts.

Recommended to be served at a temperature of about 18°C, the Palazzina Sangiovese Superiore DOC is a wine that can be enjoyed immediately, or left to age for a few years in the cellar, during which it will continue to develop new nuances of taste and aroma.

For those who appreciate wines with character and origin, the Palazzina Sangiovese Superiore DOC by Tenuta Casali offers an authentic tasting experience and a testament to Romagnolan winemaking excellence.

Winery history
Founded by Valerio and Paolo Casali in 1978 to continue the business their grandfather Mario began in the 1940s, Tenuta Casali is today also led by the new generation. The estate has developed its identity by cultivating indigenous grape varieties and reviving historic vineyards in the Mercato Saraceno area.
Production philosophy
The approach is agricultural and focused on protecting the land: "artisan" wines with minimal cellar intervention, hand harvesting, soil care, and targeted experimentation. Time in the vineyard and the cellar is regarded as a fundamental ingredient, with attention to sustainability.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located in the Mercato Saraceno subzone, in the Valle del Savio. The vines grow on river terraces with mixed soils of gravel, sand, marl and clay; the significant diurnal temperature range and proximity to the Apennines contribute to the wines' freshness and intensity.
