Duas Quintas is one of the best-known wines produced by Ramos Pinto, a historic winery in the Douro Valley, Portugal. The name "Duas Quintas" means "two estates" and refers to the two properties of Ramos Pinto, Quinta de Ervamoira and Quinta dos Bons Ares, from which the grapes for this wine come. These two estates are located in different areas of the Douro, one in the hotter and drier Douro Superior region and the other in the cool, high altitudes of the Douro, thus combining unique characteristics to create wines of great balance and complexity.

Duas Quintas is available in both white and red versions, both reflecting Ramos Pinto's commitment to producing high-quality wines that express the Douro's unique terroir. Duas Quintas Rosso is typically a blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Barroca, three of the main indigenous varieties of the Douro, which give the wine a robust structure, intense aromas of black fruits and an elegant spicy complexity.

The vinification of Duas Quintas involves fermentation in stainless steel to preserve the freshness and aroma of the grapes, followed by aging in wood which helps to integrate the flavors and develop greater complexity in the wine without overpowering the fruity character.

Visually, Duas Quintas Rosso has a deep ruby red color. On the nose, it opens with notes of ripe fruit such as plums and blackberries, enriched by floral accents, sweet spices and a touch of vanilla. In the mouth, the wine is well structured, with soft and well integrated tannins, good acidity that gives freshness and a long and pleasant finish.

This wine is versatile at the table, suitable for accompanying a wide range of dishes, from hard cheeses to red meats and game. Its ability to combine the typical power of Douro wines with an unusual accessibility makes it an excellent choice for those looking to explore the wines of this historic Portuguese wine region.

Duas Quintas by Adriano Ramos Pinto is therefore a perfect example of how tradition and innovation can come together to create wines that reflect the richness and diversity of the Douro, offering wine lovers a memorable tasting experience.
