Altenberg Riesling Auslese - Von Othegraven is a sweet white wine of exceptional quality, produced by the Von Othegraven winery, a highly prestigious winery located in the Moselle wine region of Germany. This wine comes from the specific locality of Altenberg, known for its steep terrain and unique microclimate which contribute to creating ideal conditions for the cultivation of Riesling, allowing the production of grapes with particular aromatic concentration and balanced acidity.

The "Auslese" label indicates that the wine is produced from late-harvested grapes, manually selected to ensure that only perfectly ripe bunches partially affected by botrytis (noble rot) are used. This process gives the wine extraordinary complexity and depth of flavor and aroma.

Visually it presents a bright golden yellow color, which anticipates the richness of the wine. On the nose, it offers an intensely aromatic bouquet, characterized by notes of ripe fruit such as peach, apricot and honey, enriched by floral nuances and a distinctive minerality that reflects the expression of the Altenberg terroir.

On the palate, the wine stands out for its exceptional sweetness balanced by lively acidity, creating a perfect harmony that leads to a long and persistent finish. The complexity of the flavors faithfully follows the olfactory promises, with additions of candied citrus notes and delicate spices, which contribute to a rich and layered tasting experience.

The Altenberg Riesling Auslese is a wine that is enjoyed beautifully on its own as a meditation wine, but can also be successfully paired with a variety of desserts, foie gras dishes or blue cheeses, where its sweetness and acidity can complement and enhance the flavors of foods.
