The Dogliani Superiore Vigna Pirochetta DOCG produced by Cascina Corte is an exceptional example of how the Dolcetto grape can best express itself in the hills of Piedmont. This wine, coming from one of the most prestigious areas for the production of Dolcetto, reflects the dedication and attention to detail that Cascina Corte pours into each bottle.

The grapes for the Dogliani Superiore Vigna Pirochetta are carefully selected and handpicked from vineyards located on calcareous and clay soils, ideal conditions that allow the Dolcetto to develop a unique complexity of aromas and balance. The winemaking follows traditional methods, with an emphasis on spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts that help to enhance the natural characteristics of the grape.

The result is a wine with an intense ruby red color, with violet reflections suggesting its youthful elegance. On the nose, it opens with aromas of ripe cherries, plums, and a light note of spices and tobacco, a result of aging in wood. On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety, with soft yet persistent tannins that perfectly balance the typical acidity of the Dolcetto. The finish is long and pleasantly aromatic, with an aftertaste of red fruit and a light spiciness.

The Dogliani Superiore Vigna Pirochetta is perfect to serve with hearty dishes like roasted meats, game, and aged cheeses. Its structure and complexity also make it an excellent wine for meditation, to be enjoyed slowly to appreciate every nuance.

With this sublime example of Dogliani Superiore, Cascina Corte manages to convey all the passion and authenticity of a unique territory, making each sip a true sensory journey through the winemaking traditions of Piedmont.

Small organic winery in the San Luigi hills of Dogliani (Langhe), known for Dolcetto di Dogliani, some amphora-aged labels, and an offering that also includes Barolo and local wines.
Region: Piemonte
Country: Italia
Founded: 2001
Grapes: Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Freisa, Pinot Nero, Riesling, Nascetta
Certified organic winery. Situated on the San Luigi hills, near Dogliani. Production focused on Dolcetto di Dogliani, with DOC/DOCG bottlings and an amphora line. The estate also offers hospitality spaces and tasting rooms.
Winery history
The property, already shown on an 18th-century map as "Cascina Corte", was purchased by the managers in 2001. After years of abandonment, the building and the vineyards were restored: vineyard work and the construction of a winery began in the early 2000s. The estate applied for organic certification in 2002 and received it in 2005; the family moved permanently into the farmhouse around 2008.
Production philosophy
The winery's approach prioritizes organic vineyard management, respect for the land, and minimal winemaking to showcase local grape varieties. In addition to stainless-steel vinification, the winery uses oak ageing and experiments with amphorae; the goal is minimal cellar intervention and bottles that express the Langhe.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located on the San Luigi hills near Dogliani, in the heart of the Piedmontese Langhe. The landscape is typically hilly and lies close to renowned areas such as Monforte d'Alba and the Dolcetto di Dogliani production area.
