The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG by Donatella Cinelli Colombini is a true gem in the Italian wine scene, known and appreciated worldwide for its extraordinary elegance and complexity. Produced in the renowned area of Montalcino in Tuscany, this reserve wine is made only in the best vintages, exclusively using Sangiovese grapes.

The grapes for this prestigious Brunello come from carefully selected vineyards, where viticulture is practiced using sustainable methods, respecting the environment and preserving the terroir. After harvesting, the grapes undergo slow fermentation and extended maceration to extract deep colors and robust tannins. The wine matures for at least two years in oak barrels of varying capacities, followed by additional months in the bottle before being marketed.

Visually, the Brunello di Montalcino Riserva boasts a deep and intense ruby red color. On the nose, it features complex notes of ripe red fruits, spices, chocolate, and hints of tobacco and leather, a testament to its elegant aging in oak. On the palate, the wine offers a rich and robust structure, supported by silky tannins and a harmonious balance that leads to a long and lingering finish.

Best served at a temperature of 18-20°C, this Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is an ideal pairing for structured dishes such as roasted red meats, game, and aged cheeses. Its refinement also makes it perfect as a contemplative wine. A true expression of the Montalcino terroir, this wine has great aging potential and can be stored in the cellar for many years, further developing its complexity and sophistication.

Diversified production: Brunello, Orcia, Chianti and IGT wines, Vin Santo and extra virgin olive oil.
Winery history
The family has been connected to the hills of southern Siena for centuries: parts of the estates date back to the 16th century and Fattoria del Colle returned to the family in 1919. In recent years Donatella Cinelli Colombini has relaunched the properties, grouping them under her name and opening the modern facilities of Fattoria del Colle and Casato Prime Donne in the early 2000s. On the estate's website and in official materials, milestones such as the renovation of the vineyards, the opening of the cellars and the recognitions she has received over the course of her career are mentioned.
Production philosophy
The estate combines a long-standing tradition with modern cellar practices, highlighting local grape varieties and careful farming. It promotes wine tourism through agritourism accommodation, cooking classes and tasting experiences. It is also known for recovering abandoned native varieties and for its strong focus on the visitor experience.
Terroir and vineyards
The main activities are based in Tuscany: Casato Prime Donne is located in Montalcino and Fattoria del Colle in Trequanda, in the area between Val d'Orcia and the Chianti/Orcia DOC. Both estates host vineyards, historic cellars and hospitality facilities offering tours, tastings and wine-and-food stays.
Awards and recognitions
Among the awards the winery has received are the Oscar Bibenda and the Premio Internazionale Vinitaly.
