Eleva Winery

The story of the Eleva Agricultural Company begins in an enchanting position in the heart of Valpolicella and on a particularly suitable soil. Five hectares of land with vines and olive trees, arranged on fourteen terraces, supported by stone walls; located at 280 m / above sea level, the estate enjoys the most beautiful exposure from that area so prized for viticulture that it is called "the golden basin".

Strong is the imprinting of the genius loci of the place: terra et silva, or the simultaneous presence of cultivated and uncultivated spaces interpenetrated one into the other; work of man and a sign of civilization, against virgin nature. The rock is the symbol of this place, the mother rock from which the estate rises: the limestone rock that emerges from time to time between the vegetation and the white marble.

It is with this place that Franca Maculan falls in love, arriving to buy it in 1989. Eleva is the story of a dream: that of a woman with a famous surname who wanted to prove that she could create something new and excellent on her own, with his strengths and abilities alone. A graduate in economics, co-founder of the national association Le Donne del Vino, a cultured and sensitive woman, Franca, a profound connoisseur of the world of wine as she was, sensed that great wines could be born from that place.

Having bought the estate, for years he devoted himself to renovating it and planting vineyards. Unfortunately, when everything was ready to start production, Franca discovered that she was seriously ill. Realizing that he would not have had time to see his dream come true, he decided that others would carry it out, and with a testamentary bequest he registered the property to a charity.

In this association worked, the oenologist Raffaella Veroli, who at the university had had as a teacher Davide Gaeta, an expert in marketing and business administration, and involved him in the project. The association decided to entrust them to the realization of Franca's dream, a task that Raffaella and Davide took to heart so much that they founded an agricultural company together: Eleva. Today, therefore, it is this reality that manages the estate and produces wines and oil that speak the language of this land, in full respect of Franca Maculan's dream: a dream of autonomy, but also of excellence.
