The Attanasio Giuseppe Farm is located in the province of Taranto, in Manduria, in southern Italy in the heart of the Primitivo di Manduria production area. It is managed by Giuseppe Attanasio with the help of his two sons Luca and Alessandro.

The Italian black grape variety, the absolute protagonist of this area is Primitivo, it is one of the great excellences of Apulian and Salento viticulture. Its history is very ancient, in fact it is said that it arrived in Puglia in ancient times, from the other side of the Adriatic at the hands of the Illyrians, a group of Indo-European peoples who settled in the Balkan peninsula and dedicated to the cultivation of vines. Primitivo is a delicate and not easy vine to cultivate, it gives its best in the sunny lands of Salento and in particular in the lands around the countryside of Manduria and Maruggio. This is thanks to the geographical position and the particular mainly warm coastal climate, which gives a truly excellent wine such as Primitivo Manduria Doc.

The Attanasio company, has 6 hectares of vineyards planted with Apulian sapling, the production does not exceed 15,000 bottles, which are the result of a great experience in the production of Primitivo DOP. The ancient traditions of this family of Salento winemakers are handed down from generation to generation, with love and dedication. They are traditional wines, produced with the classic processing techniques from the vineyard to the cellar, supported however by the introduction of new technologies. The control of the raw material and of all the production processes of the supply chain are personally controlled such as the pruning of the vines, the manual harvest, the maceration, up to bottling and so on.

The cellar with the barrel cellar was created in an ancient underground oil mill (ancient mills dug into the rock that were previously deposits for the conservation of wheat from the Byzantine era), inside a building from the end of the 19th century, in the center of Manduria. The labels that this company produces are: Primitivo Rosato Salento I.G.P., Primitivo di Manduria D.O.P. Dry, Primitivo di Manduria D.O.P. Reserve, Primitivo di Manduria D.O.C.G. Natural and Primitive Sweet of Manduria D.O.C.G. Passito.

The Primitivo di Manduria Doc signed by Attanasio, at Vinitaly 2008 received special recognition from the O.N.A.V. (National Organization of Wine Tasters), among the tastings in the event: "Primitive routes of Puglia: a land yet to be discovered", this wine stood out for its characteristics with a full and harmonious body and a fruity and intense aroma. A few years have passed since that event, but today it is there for all to see, and the excellence of this Attanasio Primitivo di Manduria Doc has never stopped.
