Winery history Cantina Bissoni

The winery was founded by Raffaella Alessandra Bissoni in Casticciano, on the hill overlooking the medieval village of Bertinoro. The estate was launched with the aim of enhancing local native grape varieties and has maintained an artisanal approach to viticulture over time, with hand-harvesting and careful attention to the land.

Production philosophy

Careful production respectful of nature: low-yield management, hand-tended vineyards and biodiversity-oriented practices. The estate states it adopted organic methods and obtained organic certification from the 2016 harvest.

Terroir and vineyards

Located on the hills of Bertinoro, the estate overlooks the Adriatic with the Apennines in the background. The vineyards grow on soils rich in marine sands and fossils, at elevations of around 200 metres above sea level.

Awards and recognitions

Mentions in guides and competitions: among published notes, the Sangiovese Riserva received the recognition "Quattro Viti" from AIS Vitae and the Albana Passito was listed as "Vino di Cupido" on the company website.
