Winery history Bois Vaudons (Domaine Mérieau)

Family-owned estate managed by the Mérieau family for several generations. The estate's history began with Georgina after World War II; the property was then developed by Jacky and later taken over by Jean‑François Mérieau in 2000. In recent years Emilie Mérieau has joined the team, contributing to business development and wine tourism.

Production philosophy

The approach prioritizes enhancing the soil and terroir: vineyard work employs practices that promote soil life, harvests are mainly manual and winemaking is low-intervention. In recent years the domaine has completed the transition to organic certification for all cuvées.

Terroir and vineyards

Situated in the Loir‑et‑Cher department, on the left bank of the river Cher near Saint‑Julien‑de‑Chédon and Montrichard, within the Touraine AOC of the Loire Valley. The vineyards are planted on hilly slopes with clay, limestone and sandy soils.
