Winery history Château de Cruzeau

The estate has documented origins dating back to the 17th century and is named after its founder, Jacques de Cruzeau. The current building dates to the early 20th century; the property was rediscovered and revitalized by the Andre Lurton group in the 1970s and has since undergone renovation of its vineyards and winemaking facilities.

Production philosophy

Emphasis is placed on soil care and parcel-by-parcel management, with practices aimed at promoting biodiversity and reducing chemical inputs. The winery carries out environmental trials and enhances the typicity of local grape varieties to produce elegant, balanced wines.

Terroir and vineyards

Located on gravelly rises at the border between Saint-Médard-d'Eyrans and Martillac, in the southern part of the Pessac-Léognan appellation. The soils are characterised by deep gravel deposits that promote ripening and add structure to the wines.
