Winery Château de Pez

The estate dates back to the 15th century and for centuries passed through notable families such as the Pontac. Sold during the French Revolution, it belonged to several families until being acquired by the Maison Louis Roederer in 1995. Since the early 2000s the estate has implemented a vineyard and cellar restructuring program to enhance the area's quality potential; it was included on the list of Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnels in 2003.

Terroir-driven production: targeted interventions in the vineyard, parcel-by-parcel vinification and careful use of wood barriers in ageing. The estate declares sustainable practices and projects to preserve biodiversity and to reduce environmental impact.

Located in the heart of the Saint-Estèphe appellation, the estate occupies a well‑drained plateau close to the Gironde estuary. Soils are typically shallow gravel over a clay‑limestone subsoil; the vineyard is among the highest in the appellation, with good exposure and natural ventilation.
