Winery history Giulio Cocchi

The company is named after its founder, Giulio Cocchi, a creative pastry chef who in the late 19th century began producing aromatized wines and sparkling wines in Asti. Over time ownership passed to the Bava family, who relaunched and expanded the product range, preserving the historic recipes for vermouth and aromatized wines and developing a sparkling wine production in Alta Langa.

Production philosophy

Preserving and enhancing historic wine-based recipes by combining tradition and innovation. Cocchi focuses on products entirely based on Piedmont wine, original recipes for aromatized products, and a commitment to the quality of the bubbles of Alta Langa.

Terroir and vineyards

Historic headquarters in Cocconato in Monferrato; production activities and winemaking projects also extend to the Alta Langa area and to other Piedmont appellations.

Awards and recognitions

Recent recognitions include awards and mentions for Alta Langa labels: for example, Espressione Bianc 2018 received the Top Wine award in the 2025 Slow Wine Guide, and Espressione Noir 2018 was awarded the Gold Seal at the Wine Hunter Award; in previous years other Alta Langa labels from Cocchi have received mentions in specialized guides.
