Winery Damijan Podversic

Discover the story, territory and wines of Damijan Podversic.

Artisanal producer in Collio Goriziano (Gorizia), known for skin-contact white wines — notably Istrian Malvasia — produced with nature‑respecting practices.

Winery history Damijan Podversic

Damijan Podversic began restoring abandoned vineyards on Monte Calvario in 1988; he started bottling under his own name in the late 1990s (first commercial bottlings from 1998). Influenced by Josko Gravner, he became noted for his skin‑contact white wines.

Production philosophy

Viticulture and winemaking focused on respect for nature: low yields, selective harvesting (green harvest), indigenous‑yeast fermentations and long skin macerations; extended ageing in large oak casks. Some sources report organic certification.
