Winery Fontodi

The estate has belonged to the Manetti family since 1968. The property has been developed by enhancing its estate vineyards and by focusing on the expression of the local Sangiovese. Over time Fontodi has modernized the winery, prioritizing winemaking practices that preserve the integrity of the grapes and gravity-flow handling.

Agricultural practices inspired by a natural and sustainable approach: a certified organic estate, hand‑harvested grapes, use of on‑site compost, and winemaking with native yeasts and wood ageing to showcase the terroir.

Situated in the Conca d'Oro south of Panzano, the estate benefits from high altitudes, soils with a galestro/alberese matrix, a marked diurnal temperature range and abundant sunlight, elements that characterize the wines of the area.

Fontodi's wines, particularly Flaccianello della Pieve, have received very high ratings from international publications such as Vinous, Wine Spectator, and Wine Advocate. Many of the estate's wines regularly appear in specialist lists and reviews.
