Winery history Gordon e Blandy's

Blandy’s is one of the historic names in Madeira production: the Blandy family has led the company for generations, and the label is recognised for preserving traditional ageing techniques and for operating the Blandy’s Wine Lodge in Funchal. Over the years the company has kept collections of vintage bottles and expanded its portfolio to include frasqueiras, colheitas and blends of different ages.

Production philosophy

It combines respect for traditional Madeira winemaking practices—ageing in the island’s characteristic rooms and casks—with initiatives in innovation and sustainability. The winery emphasises the varietal origins of its wines and the care taken in ageing to express the different styles of Madeira.

Terroir and vineyards

Operations are concentrated on the island of Madeira, with the winery and Blandy’s Wine Lodge in Funchal. Grapes are sourced from several areas of the island, including Seixal, Câmara de Lobos and Jardim da Serra, and the producer also uses cooler sites, such as Caniçal, for certain ageing.
