Winery history Kir‑Yianni (Ktima Kir‑Yianni)

Kir‑Yianni was founded as an independent project led by Yiannis Boutaris in 1997, starting from historic vineyards around Yianakohori and later in Amyndeon. Management has remained family-run: the second generation expanded research into Xinomavro, modernized the facilities and developed exports, making the winery a reference for Greek wine in international markets.

Production philosophy

It combines respect for local tradition with modern winemaking practices and experimentation with parcels and varieties, aiming to produce distinctive regional wines and achieve global distribution.

Terroir and vineyards

Vineyards and wineries located in two main areas of northern Greece: Naoussa and the plain/plateau of Amyndeon. The parcels span a variety of exposures and soils typical of the two regions, with production aimed at enhancing the local terroir.

Awards and recognitions

Documented recognitions include: 95 points at the 2025 Decanter World Wine Awards for NAOUSSA Cuvée Villages 2022; BRC certification with an AA rating.
