Winery history Lapostolle

The estate was established by the Marnier-Lapostolle family together with local partners after the potential of Valle de Apalta was identified. The project grew with the aim of applying French expertise to selected vineyards in Chile; Clos Apalta became the estate’s flagship wine. The family and the management team have progressively developed additional vineyards and a dedicated production facility to showcase the terroir.

Production philosophy

A pursuit of the fullest expression of the terroir through the selection of vineyard parcels, environmentally respectful practices and winemaking techniques that blend French tradition with Chilean know‑how. The winery emphasizes the quality of specific vineyards and the sustainability of practices in the vineyard and the winery.

Terroir and vineyards

The main vineyards are located in Valle de Apalta, with exposures in hollows and hillsides. The soils are ancient, with a granitic to granodioritic matrix, colluvial areas and alluvial deposits along the Tinguiririca River, which influence the microclimate and ripening.

Awards and recognitions

Their flagship wine, Clos Apalta, has received international recognition and very high scores from critics such as James Suckling for some vintages.
