Discover the story, territory and wines of Benoît Munier.
Micro-producer of Champagne based in Cuis in the Côte des Blancs, known for highly precise blanc de blancs made from Chardonnay vinified with a low-intervention approach and very low dosages. (https://www.lesgrappes.com/en/vignerons/u/champagne-benoit-munier)
The history of the Munier family is tied to small holdings in the Champagne region: the family has progressively assembled micro-parcels in the Côte des Blancs and retains a family connection to the vineyards purchased in the last century, which inspired the current production focused on terroir-driven wines and artisanal winemaking. The recent trajectory is marked by the project’s emergence as a micro‑maison focused on the expression of Chardonnay.
Production philosophy
Low-intervention vineyard practices and parcel-by-parcel winemaking: Munier favors selective harvesting, spontaneous fermentations, very limited use of sulfites, and often forgoes fining and filtration to preserve the transparency of the terroir. The stated objective is to place the territory at the center of the production process.
Terroir and vineyards
Vines distributed in micro-parcels throughout the Côte des Blancs and neighboring communes: Cuis, Cramant, Avize, Oger, Chouilly and Bouzy; chalky soils typical of the Côte des Blancs that impart minerality and tension to the blanc de blancs.
