Production method

For its grappas Astoria uses pomace derived from local grapes (including Glera/Prosecco). Methods vary by label: some grappas are left as white versions, others undergo aging in wood. For the bitter (Ast'Up) the product consists of infusions/alcoholic extracts flavored with herb extracts and citrus peels.

Distillation

Batch pot-still distillation (alambicco discontinuo) for the grappas (method indicated on some product sheets).

Ageing

Aging in barrique for some labels; other grappas offered in unaged white versions.

Producer history Astoria

Founded in 1987 from the passion of a family of winegrowers, Astoria is led by the Polegato family (including Paolo and Filippo). The company has established itself as one of the main private producers in the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene area, developing a range that includes sparkling wines, still wines, grappa and aperitif products.

Production philosophy

Astoria's production approach combines winemaking tradition and innovation: care for the Prosecco territory, promotion of biodiversity in the vineyards and attention to the quality of raw materials. The company communicates agronomic practices aimed at protecting soil and the environment.
