Distillation and production
Distillation and production
Production method
Production is based on Polska rye (in particular Dankowskie Diamond for some expressions). For some Single Estate references the first distillation occurs at farm level at the cereal producers; the distillate is then rectified and purified at the Polmos Żyrardów facility using rectification columns. For the Heritage 176 expression a revisited malting process is employed (steeping, germination and drying in kilns up to 176°F) and maceration techniques are used for the flavored lines.
Distillation
Rectification mainly in distillation columns; process documented with initial farm-level distillation for some references followed by subsequent rectifications on site (commonly described as a multi-step route, often four total distillations for some expressions). Multi-stage water filtration and purification.
Producer history Belvedere
The Belvedere brand was created in the early 1990s and commercial production began in 1993 at the Polmos Żyrardów facility. The Żyrardów distillery, built in the early 20th century, is one of Poland’s longest-standing vodka production sites. In the years that followed Belvedere grew as a global premium brand and today is part of the Maisons of Moët Hennessy (LVMH).
