Production method

For Pineau: mutage (addition of Cognac eau-de-vie to the must) using eau-de-vie aged at least one year; the site describes production from the family's grapes through blending and aging in barrels. For eaux-de-vie/Cognac, distillation is carried out in copper pot stills with double distillation to obtain the eau-de-vie.

Ageing

Aging in French oak casks; for Pineau Tradition Blanc an aging in French oak barrels of approximately 24–36 months is indicated.

Producer history Famille Guérin

The Guérin family's first commercial activities date back to the late 1930s, when Robert Guérin began producing and selling Pineau des Charentes in the Saint-Palais-sur-Mer area. The operation developed over time with new generations and, together with other growers, the family helped establish the SICA Puy Gaudin on 1 May 1967. Today production retains a strong family and territorial character.

Production philosophy

Emphasis on the transmission of family know-how, on enhancing the local territory (terroir of the Pays Royannais near the mouth of the Gironde) and on a traditional approach combined with modern choices. Core values repeated on the official site are authenticity, sharing and care for the land.
