SKYY was launched in San Francisco in 1992 by Maurice Kanbar, who from the outset focused on an advanced purification process to achieve a very clean, smooth spirit. In subsequent years the brand expanded internationally and Campari Group took control (shareholdings and later integration into its American division). In recent years the brand updated its liquid and image, adding a dilution phase with water enriched by Pacific minerals and a final filtration through California Limestone.
