Production method

Blended malt: assembly of single malts from Islay, Jura, Skye, Mull, Orkney and Arran. The core expression is typically bottled at around 43% ABV; some sources indicate the base bottling is non-coloured and non chill-filtered, and there are also batch strength releases and wine-cask finished versions.

Ageing

Core expression without age statement (NAS); historically there have been editions finished in wine casks (e.g. Pomerol) and matured releases finished in particular barrels.

The brand was developed and launched in the late 1990s by Ian Macleod Distillers. Over the years core NAS releases and special editions with wine cask finishes (e.g. Pomerol) have been issued, along with particular expressions such as 'Batch Strength' and 'Voyager'.
