Brezza’s Barolo DOCG comes from vineyards located in the municipalities of Barolo, Monforte d’Alba and Novello, in the south-western part of the appellation. It is made from Nebbiolo grapes, specifically the Lampia sub-variety. The vines grow at approximately 300 metres above sea level on clay-silt, sandy and silty soils. The vineyards face east and west and are trained on vertical trellises using traditional Guyot pruning.
The wine is made with a shorter maceration than the Barolo wines produced from the family’s major single vineyard sites. It then matures for two years in large wooden casks, followed by a further year in bottle. In the glass, it expresses the character of Nebbiolo through structure, elegance and an especially expressive aromatic profile even in its youth. This Barolo offers an accessible introduction to the diversity of the appellation, balancing intensity, finesse and a clear sense of its vineyard origins.
