More questions
The Bianco IGT "Il Preliminare" from Cantine del Notaio shows a bright, clear appearance. On the nose it offers restrained aromas of white-fleshed fruit and floral notes, with light citrus hints and a subtle mineral touch. The olfactory approach is measured, not excessive, inviting a focused tasting.
On the palate it is lean, with balanced freshness and almost no tannins, leaning towards drinkability rather than complexity. The finish is clean and of moderate length. Best served chilled, it pairs well with light starters, simply prepared fish or fresh cheeses. Its immediacy makes it versatile for everyday pairings and pleasant to share. It does not require long time in the glass and is approachable when young while maintaining a clear aromatic profile.

The winery
Cantine del Notaio
Basilicata (Vulture)Italy
Cantine del Notaio is a winery founded in 1998 in Rionero in Vulture (PZ) by Gerardo Giuratrabocchetti; it focuses on enhancing Aglianico del Vulture.
The story
Winemaking passion runs in the Giuratrabocchetti family for generations. In 1998 Gerardo Giuratrabocchetti and his wife Marcella officially established Cantine del Notaio to promote the family vineyards and Aglianico del Vulture.
Production philosophy
Their philosophy is to enhance Aglianico del Vulture by combining tradition and innovation: nature-friendly viticulture, oenological research (including with Prof. Luigi Moio) and ageing in tufaceous caves and French oak barrels/barriques.
Terroir and vineyards
Based in Rionero in Vulture (Monte Vulture), Basilicata. About 52 hectares spread across typical Vulture sites (Rionero, Barile, Ripacandida, Maschito, Ginestra); volcanic soils with tufaceous layers; some century-old vines.
